With Bentley's 100th anniversary looming next year, the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition of Mulsanne. It pays homage to the company's founding father, W.O. Bentley includes a part from one of his automobiles.
The special model can be purchased with a regular Mulsanne, Mulsanne Speed or Mulsanne Long Wheelbase. It was inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley owned by W.O. was using as his personal vehicle. The influence of the car can be seen in the interior. For instance, a Mulliner illuminated bar cabinet houses an exhibit that has a part of the 8 Litre crankshaft displayed inside.
Other highlights include a chrome-colored application running backwards along the side of the car with a photoetched B-shaped air vent which incorporates W.O. The signature of the owner front grille that's modeled on the 1930s-appropriate Onyx color of the limited edition, and an optional chrome application that runs around the lower spoilers, left and right. The front grille is also unique, sporting chrome mesh instead of the standard body-color mesh like that of the standard Mulsanne and featuring the Flying B logo as well.
A keybox engraved with the Bentley wings holds two keys and has a black flock lining, while key pouches can be purchased to complement or contrast with the key box. The commemorative set includes an 1:18 scale model as well as an aircraft-like "B" paperweight. It also includes an unpublished booklet with never before seen images of the original Bentley 8 Litre.
